Conventional Soil
For many of the same reasons that make cast iron such a successful material in rainwater it is also extremely well suited for soil drainage products.
Cast iron soil drainage offers some very specific benefits in addition to its strength and durability. Cast iron has a very high melting point and does not emit toxic fumes. Because it is fire resistant it requires no special provisions to meet existing fire regulations. It can withstand mechanical un-blocking operations and does not require the use of expansion joints. Cast iron considerably reduces noise, a particular benefit to shared property.
As with rainwater, given proper maintenance and normal wear and tear we anticipate our soil drainage products lasting for a 100 years.
